Wait, what? Again?

CARSON CITY – So, we’re learning all about renewable resources in a hearing in the Senate Energy, Infrastructure and Transportation Committee this morning, when we pull out our BlackBerry to learn that President Barack Obama has created his very own faith-based office.

Just like George W. Bush.

Look, we’re not against churches doing good works. In fact, people of various faiths in America do a huge number of great things every day, and their reward is in heaven, as the Good Book says. Our problem comes when the government starts to get intertwined with those churches, raising all sorts of dangerous possibilities. In fact, the best thing about Bush’s faith-based office was that it was so neglected, it never really got around to doing anything really bad.

We really wish that idea had left Washington, D.C., on Special Air Mission 28000, the flight that took Bush to post-presidential obscurity in Texas.

One Response to “Wait, what? Again?”

Jeez. Isn’t our faith-based economy enough, Mr. President?
