Holy weaselosity, Batman!

After waiting until the day before the close of filing (without telling his party, of course) to say he wouldn’t run for another term, Assemblyman Chad Christensen decided today he would file after all.

It probably shouldn’t come as a surprise, since one of Christensen’s virtues is inconstancy and a tendency toward deception.

This 11th-hour flip flop, along with the other things we outlined about Christensen in our earlier post, will make some fine fodder for Democratic challenger Andrew Martin. As will this: Christensen said he was quitting the Legislature to be a better dad to his kids. Clearly, he was either lying, or he really hates his kids. Nice family values!

In other last-minute filing surprises, Regent Steve Sisolak and failed secretary of state candidate Brian Scroggins filed to run against Clark County Commissioner Bruce Woodbury, on the off chance authorities might rule Woodbury is ineligible to run because of term limits.

Oh, and remember Sharron Angle, who failed at running for Congress and at getting a property tax limitation measure on the ballot (multiple times)? Yeah, she decided to file for office against a Northern Nevada state senator by the name of Bill Raggio. Nice. It will be fun to watch the master of the Senate dispatch the upstart Angle.

“Oh, THAT Brian Scroggins
Brian Scroggins, who’s [then] running for the office that runs elections in our state, actually defended Jim Gibbons’ infamous, and plagiarized, “human shields” speech back in the day.”

Scroggins is on the Contractors’ Board, the one that won’t let anyone read their investigative reports.

Once again we will have Scroggins signs around looong after he loses in the primary….Scroggins has a sign company but following the law about timely removal? Not a law abider. Say, isn’t he an executive with the CCRepublic party; yeah, so laws would be for other people.
