Sen. Ensign can’t take joke, censors satirical parody Twitter feed
Well, my days of impersonating that randy silver-haired fox Sen. Ensign via Twitter are numbered — at least using the SenatorEnsign moniker. I just received this note from Twitter officials:
Hi,
We’ve received a complaint from a representative of Senator Ensign. It has come to our attention that your Twitter account:
http://twitter.com/SenEnsign
is in violation of our basic Terms of Service, specifically article 4 which mentions impersonation:
4. You must not abuse, harass, threaten, impersonate or intimidate other Twitter users.
In this case “impersonation” is the issue. Impersonation is against our terms of service.
To settle this issue we’ve removed the account in order to eliminate confusion.
Please honor Twitter’s Terms of Service accordingly. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
Cheers,
Twitter Support
While I can no longer log into the account, the page with his collected Tweets is still, happily, available here. Watch for a more obviously satirical, more carefully titled, less-uptight-asshole-offending Twitter feed to come online soon.
