Medical Mafia lawyer: “Waaa! No fair! I wanna do-over!”
Here’s a desperate hiccup of a development in the ongoing Medical Mafia case, a scheme alleged by the federal government in which a network of Nevada doctors and lawyers colluded to rip off clients in personal injury cases.
Dr. Kabins
Attorneys for Dr. Kabins, who was indicted in March, now want the case against their client dismissed because, well, some of George Knapp’s news coverage has been so darn good that, well, goshdarnit, the feds have just gotta be leaking information! It’s a wonder there isn’t a passage in this latest motion that cries, “Cheating! Cheating! Do-over! Do-over!” At any rate, the motion provides a nice timeline of the whole case; alternately, you can read ours here.
Maybe this is just a minor outbreak of flailing, kitchen-sink lawyering. Or maybe, just maaaaaybe, Kabins’ attorneys are a bit sore over how this cynical media stunt orchestrated around Kabins’ plea was thoroughly derided by Knapp as a piece of explosive douchery by a cabal of local attorneys hoping to protect their meal tickets.
