Nevada’s Board of Medical Protectionists yesterday ordered a Las Vegas doctor to go to his room without supper. The punishment handed down to Dr. Eladio Carrerra is considered to be the harshest ever decreed by the Protectionist panel, which was created for the purpose of making sure doctors get away with pretty much everything.

In addition to its cruel mandate that Carrera go nighty-night without eating any Mac and Cheese, the board also insisted that Carrera write 100 times on the blackboard “I will not infect my patients with horrible diseases any more.”

After a quick conference behind closed doors, board members realized the punishment might appear to be too severe, so they reduced the second requirement to a mere 10 times on the blackboard.
